Frequently Asked Questions

  • In order to provide the most personalized, quality, unrushed care: I am out-of-network with all insurances. However, I can offer complimentary superbill submission automatically after each visit.

My goal is to offer a level of depth, flexibility, and personalized care that’s often hard to sustain within insurance-based systems.

Here is more information about out-of-network benefits:

    • To check your benefits, you can use: Reimbursify Verifast (opens in a new tab)

      • Ultimately, check with your insurance to be 100% sure. The Verifast link will also be emailed to you.

You can usually check your benefits by calling the number on the back of your card and asking:

    • “Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?”

    • “What is my deductible and what percentage is reimbursed after it’s met?”

    • “Do I have an allowable amount for these codes: 90792, 99214, 90833, 90836, 90837, 90838?”

  • 2-Hour Initial Visit: $800

    Hourly Rate (50min): $500

    Weekly Therapy (50min): $400

Half-Hour (25min): $350 (for medication follow ups after 3 months of stability)

Your time is flexible. Each session can include any combination of the following:

    Medication Management

    • Holistic discussion of medications, supplements, sleep, nutrition, and lifestyle factors.

    • Follow-up frequency based on your needs: weekly, twice monthly, monthly, every 2 months, or every 3 months.

    • Minimum visit frequency: once every 3 months (once per quarter/season).

    • ADHD Assessment (one-time: $500, outside of session time)

      • Includes review and synthesis of questionnaires, interviews, and computerized testing.

      • May be eligible for insurance reimbursement under test review codes, but coverage varies.

    Psychotherapy

    • Weekly sessions focused on therapy techniques tailored to you.

    • Modalities may include:

      • Supportive / Integrative

      • Psychedelic Integration

      • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

      • Brainspotting

    Limited Psychotherapy

    • If you’re already seeing a therapist, modalities like Brainspotting can be integrated as supplemental sessions alongside your ongoing therapy.

  • I ask for at least two full weekdays’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This gives me a chance to offer that time to another patient who may be waiting.

Cancellations with less than two weekdays’ notice, or missed appointments, are billed at the full session fee, as that time has been reserved for you. If you arrive more than halfway through the session, it’s also considered a missed appointment.

I completely understand that emergencies can come up, and I always appreciate open communication if something unexpected happens.

  • Most sessions are 60 minutes, whether we’re focusing on therapy, medication management, or a combination of both.

Occasionally, for medication-only visits, we may schedule 30-minute sessions — for example, if we’re doing more frequent check-ins, or if things are going smoothly and there’s not much to adjust.

I always tailor session length based on what’s clinically appropriate and supportive for you.

  • Right now, I’m only licensed to work with clients in California. If you’re outside the state, I can help you find resources or connect you with someone local.

  • I currently offer virtual sessions only.

Virtual care allows for greater flexibility and consistency, and most patients find it just as effective as in-person work.

  • Yes,  If medication is the right choice for you, we’ll discuss options like SSRIs, ADHD medications, or others that fit your needs. I also explore alternatives like supplements and lifestyle changes to support your overall health.

  • Psychedelic-informed psychiatry. During our sessions, I'm happy to discuss psychedelic experiences openly. This can include preparation, risk reduction, medication counseling (how psychedelics may interact with psychiatric medications), and answering your questions.

Psychedelic integration. Integration - the process of weaving aspects of your experience into daily life to foster lasting change - can be one focus of our therapy work together, or the primary focus. I can also connect you with therapists who specialize in integration as their core practice.

Low-dose guided ketamine sessions. For patients already engaged in ongoing weekly therapy with me, I offer occasional guided low-dose ketamine experiences (roughly once every 1-3 months). These can be done safely via telehealth with appropriate medical screening and safety precautions.

Navigating other ketamine options. If you're interested in higher-dose, journey-level ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I can help you find a trusted in-person therapist near you. For medical treatment of depression or suicidality with ketamine (such as IV infusions or Spravato), I can offer recommendations and referrals for local clinics.

For other psychedelics: research is progressing, and there are legal avenues when appropriate, including clinical research studies, compassionate-use programs, retreats in certain states and countries, and international training programs for clinicians. I'm happy to discuss what options may exist for your situation.

I do not provide or prescribe illegal substances, nor do I promote illegal activities. Your safety and well-being are always the priority.
